Meet Your Instructor: Evgeniya

“Movement is not just a routine; it is a lifetime of discipline, resilience, and structural mastery.”

Welcome to Body Pilates. I am Evgeniya, a lifelong professional movement specialist with over three decades of experience dedicated to mastering physical mechanics, core stability, and functional anatomy. Originally born in Russia, where I began my classical dance training, I have proudly called the Netherlands my home for the past 22 years.

The Journey: From Elite Performance to Living Pain-Free
My path to Pilates was carved through decades of high-performance physical execution. My foundational training led to a vibrant, 15-year international dance career. Along the way, I discovered a profound love for the aerial arts, spending 15 years deeply immersed in professional aerial performance.

However, a lifetime of dancing, climbing, and hanging upside down at elite levels eventually took a toll on my body. I found myself facing chronic pain, particularly a complex lower back issue that felt like a puzzle I was determined to solve.

Refusing to let pain dictate my quality of life, I turned to the Pilates method. Through absolute dedication and mindful practice, I experienced a transformative recovery, eliminating my pain and unlocking an entirely new level of physical resilience.

Authentic Classical Education & Institutional Credibility

Eager to master the science behind my own healing, I committed to a comprehensive Pilates education program at Studio Pilates Rotterdam, learning directly under the esteemed Javier Velasquez and Mariska Barnard. This education covers the authentic, original work of Joseph H. Pilates, as well as the essential anatomical advancements introduced by his first-generation students.

Today, my deep commitment to biomechanics is reflected in my dual roles within the movement community. Alongside running my private Pilates studio here in Rhoon, I am a faculty member at Codarts Rotterdam (University for the Arts), where I teach as an aerial specialisation teacher. Working within this world-class institution keeps me at the absolute cutting edge of elite athletic coaching and performance longevity.
